Is sports betting legal in New Jersey? Can I bet online?


Now New Jersey has legal sports betting online. The June 14th, 2018 law makes it legal to bet on sports in the state. You must be 21 years old or above to bet in NJ State.

New Jersey allows legal sports betting on the majority of professional sports. You can place a bet on football, basketball, auto racing, baseball, golf, MMA, Boxing, soccer, and hockey.

What you cannot bet on in NJ?

Wagering not allowed on any high school sporting events, eSports league and on college teams from NJ State.

Soon after May 2018’s Supreme Court’s ruling, New Jersey opened its door for gamblers to experience ‘Las Vegas-style’ sports betting. As a result, NJ becomes the 2nd US state outside of Nevada to facilitate legal sports betting. Delaware already launched one week ahead of NJ.

In NJ, you have multiple betting options like the Casinos, racetracks and online through the mobile app across the Garden State. Land-based casinos like The Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa was the 1st Atlantic City Casino to offer sports betting also, offers online wagering via Android mobile devices.

NJ’s sports betting market is structured to allow greater brand competition in the state. Every land-based casinos & racetracks are eligible to get main licenses for online sports betting and the licenses are restricted to these categories only. Each key license holder is permitted to operate up to three sports betting brands online and can partner with offshore brands.

Currently, there are Nine brick-and-mortar casinos and three racetrack slots across the state. In NJ, the Borgata, Bally’s, Caesars, Golden Nugget, Hard Rock AC, Harrah’s, Resorts AC, Tropicana, Ocean Resort Casinos and The Meadowlands, Freehold Raceway, and Monmouth Park racetracks are your betting options.
